I pretty much start everything from a drawing, including my storyboards for Origins. Here are the pencils for the storyboards, a few of which became styleframes, as seen in a previous post. 
I really dislike the idea of having to resort to using pictures or found illustrations when making storyboards, so I try to think of every frame as an original illustration. Unless of course, it’s a piece with live action. Here’s my first attempt at painting a frame for these boards:
Origins is a project that will be an abstract exploration of origin of the Universe, as well as the origins of life on Earth. Rather than explain these concepts in merely scientific terms, this will illustrate the story through shape language, color, and music.
